GET INVOLVED

Theater at Transy is open to all. Whether you're a major or a minor or just someone who enjoys theater, you'll be welcomed into our community with open arms. Our program prides itself on being inviting and easy to get involved with. We always need more creative minds to lend themselves to our projects.

So, whether you plan on studying theater or not during your time at Translyvania University, you may be our next brilliant designer or star!

No matter what your area of interest is — from acting to designing to stage managing to building puppets — there will be opportunities for you on this campus.

If you're not sure if you're ready to dive into a full department show, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved with theater on Transy's campus!

Check out opportunities with the Transylvania University Theater Guild — the student-led side of theater. This organization will offer chances to get involved more informally, so you can try it out. If you've never done theater before, or if you are formally trained in your craft, the Guild welcomes you and your talents.​

Past projects this student group has undertaken include:

  • Shakes Week (Including a performance of scenes from Shakespeare plays, directed by students), Winter 2014

  • Suddenly, Last Summer by Tennessee Williams, Winter 2015

  • Tens X Transy (A ten minute play festival written and directed by students), Winter 2016

  • A ten-minute play festival put together in 24 hours, written and directed by students, Fall 2016

  • Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Winter 2017

  • You Got Older by Clare Barron, Fall 2017
